The new steam locomotive for the Corris Railway – “Falcon” No. 10; The UK’s and possibly the World’s newest steam locomotive at the end of August 2023.

Having had one steam locomotive constructed and at work from August 2005 there was a pause to enjoy the success and look to the future. It was decided to have a second steam engine to make sure that maintenance, scheduled or unplanned, would not mean a steamless day for the most important people on the Railway – the passengers.

Some 12 years and £400,000 later the “Falcon” Locomotive No. 10 was delivered to Maespoeth Junction at 4:00pm on Wednesday 30th August 2023 having been primarily built at the workshops of Alan Keef Limited, Lea, Ross-on-Wye with various components fabricated by the many and varied skills of Corris Railway volunteers.

About the kit

This kit is produced by Tyneside Models. The body is carefully designed in Fusion 360 to suit the Bachmann Sir Handel chassis. The kit is printed in resin, and includes the the cab roof, smokebox door and wire to use for more discreet 009 compatable couplings. A dummy chassis is also included to create a static model if preferred.
